Installation Notes

Electric tailgate strut replacement is a straightforward installation for experienced DIYers or professional installers. Always support the tailgate securely before removing the original struts, as the tailgate is heavy and can fall unexpectedly. Replace both struts as a pair—a new strut paired with a worn one can cause uneven operation, place additional strain on the power liftgate system, and shorten the life of the new components.

Signs You Need New Electric Tailgate Struts

• The tailgate struggles to lift or won’t stay open.
• Opening or closing is uneven or inconsistent.
• The tailgate stops partway through its travel.
• These symptoms can have other causes, so check the power tailgate system and confirm fitment before ordering.
