Installation Notes
Bonnet strut replacement is a straightforward DIY job — typically 15–20 minutes per side with no special tools required. Always have a second person support the bonnet during installation, or use a sturdy prop. Replace both struts as a pair — a new strut paired with a tired one creates uneven loading and shortens the new one's life.

- Slow or weak lift when you release the catch
- Worse on cold mornings — gas pressure drops with temperature
- Visible oil residue on the chrome shaft, or hissing when compressed

They are good easy to fit, took 10 mins. The only trouble I had is the drivers side strut hit the bracket for my pre-filter, I had to lower the bracket a little and it did push on my driving light relay next to the batteries but fitted good, bonnet will slam shut if you let the bonnet go from around 3/4 open, not a great deal of pressure in strut to hold it from slamming.

An easy straightforward fit. Does make raising the bonnet easier and provides more access by lifting a little higher. A must is to mark the hinge plates to ensure correct realignment.
