Installation Notes

Tailgate strut replacement is one of the easier DIY jobs on a van — usually 10–15 minutes with no special tools. Open the tailgate fully and prop it securely before starting (a second person makes this much easier, especially with the heavier-rated struts). Pop the spring clip on each ball socket, lift the old strut off, and clip the new one on in the same orientation. Always replace both as a pair — running a fresh strut against a worn one will kill the new one early.
